Hailing from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, where he first sold night crawlers at age 6, Norman embarked on an academic pursuit, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in metallurgical engineering from Michigan Technological University and an MBA from George Washington University. In his formative years after college, Norman tirelessly dedicated upwards of 100 hours per week for 8-10 years to establish his career.
He commenced his professional journey, and thirst for innovation, as a Patent Examiner in early 1957 at the US Patent Office. This role involved evaluating patent applications and existing patents to assess their viability for issuance. Norman’s immersion in the world of inventions and patents spans a significant portion of his lifetime.
Founding an Automotive Corporation
In 1968, Rautiola founded Nartron Corporation with a bold vision to revolutionize the automotive industry. That Corporation quickly rose to prominence, becoming synonymous with pioneering electronic systems inventions (the touch screen).
