Firm gets Army Contract
A West Michigan firm will help outfit the Army’s workhorse vehicle, commonly known as a Humvee, by providing a new electric; start system designed to improve safety and save money.
Nartron Corp. of Reed City recently was awarded a contract to supply its electronic engine start system for the Humvees, assembled by AM General in Mishawaka, Ind. The deal is I expected to create up to 100 jobs at the factory as production ramps up over the next few months. The starter, which cuts starting time and improves engine reliability, will be installed on all current and future Army Humvees.
